Cover, elevation and facing decide the fight. Break line of sight and the enemy spends its whole turn walking to you.
STARLIT VANGUARD
Tactical mecha RPG
Starlit Vanguard is a turn-based tactics RPG about a squadron of pilots holding a star system together after its sun began to fail. You command three frames at a time, and every fight is decided by where you stand — not by how long you grind.
Build a squad from twenty pilots, refit their frames between sorties, and carry the consequences of each mission into the next chapter.
Three pilots, one carrier, and no reinforcements coming.
Squad leader. Seventeen, three confirmed kills before her first promotion, and the only pilot who reads the whole briefing. Flies the frame nobody else will.
Mechanic. Keeps eleven frames in the air with a wrench and a strong opinion about replacement parts. The reason your mech survives the mission you should not have taken.
The squad's tactical core in a body that looks eighteen. Calculates the odds out loud, which nobody asked for, and is usually right, which nobody enjoys.
Move, break line of sight, and win the turn before the shooting starts.
Cover, elevation and facing decide the fight. Break line of sight and the enemy spends its whole turn walking to you.
Every frame carries three hardpoints. Swap weapons between sorties instead of unlocking a bigger number.
Spend your action to hand it to a squadmate. Chain three commands in one turn and the last one lands twice as hard.
A new operation every two weeks, and a season that changes the map.
What players said after the first season.

The first tactics game on my phone where losing felt like my own fault. Took me three tries to stop rushing the ridge.

Frame loadouts are the whole game for me. I rebuilt the same mech six ways and it plays like six different units.

Nova's dialogue is the best thing in it. Someone on that team has read a tactics script before.

No energy timers, no ads mid-mission. I finished the campaign on a flight and it never once asked me for a gem.

Chapter four, convoy mission. That's it. That's the review.
Yes. Campaign chapters, story missions and ranked are free. Frames, weapon modules and cosmetics are sold in the store, and no campaign mission requires them.
Campaign chapters download once and then play offline. Ranked, co-op raids and live events need a connection.
iOS 15 and later, Android 9 and later, and Windows through Steam. One account carries progress across all three.
About 3.2 GB on mobile once the art packs are in; the base install is 1.1 GB.
Every cleared chapter replays at your current squad level, or you can lock the squad back to its original state for the harder version.
